The historical and current role of religion in social change

Location

Online

Date & Time

October 27, 2020, 4:00 pm5:30 pm

Description

This dialogue-focused series focuses on centering discussions of faith, social justice and cross-cultural cooperation. These facilitated discussions will challenge students to break down stereotypes and misconceptions about other groups on campus while working together to address the issues that our UMBC community, the greater Baltimore community, and our society faces.

This session will discuss the ways in which religious organizations can uphold or subvert oppression, their role in advancing or regressing social change, and what local religious organizations are doing in response to our current sociopolitical climate.

All undergrads, grads, staff, faculty, and alumni are encouraged to attend! For any questions, please email Erin Waddles, Coordinator for Student Diversity and Inclusion at waddles@umbc.edu or The Mosaic at mosaic@umbc.edu
