Description
[Free]dom Fridays are designed to provide a virtual space to have an open dialogue about social justice and identity-based topics with other participants.
This session will examine the rise and decline of the Yellow Power movement, the activist roots and complications associated with the formation of a pan-ethnic "Asian American" identity, and contemporary Asian American movements for liberation and justice. Time and attention will also be spent on the impact of COVID-19 on the resurgence of covert and overt forms of xenophobia and anti-Asian sentiment.
