Description

Workshop Wednesdays w/ i3b are monthly opportunities for faculty, staff, graduate students and adult learners to engage around social justice topics that can support their personal growth and professional development. All sessions are interactive, and designed for skill-building and practice.

Session Focus: Belonging & Identity-Based Assessment

Belonging and inclusion are the outcomes of intentional daily actions, experiences and curated environments. Join i3b and Student Affairs Assessment as we explore identity-based assessment and its connection to cultivating belonging. This session will include a deep dive into sense of belonging concepts and literature, and how it is different for minoritized populations, and further, what it looks like at a Minority Serving Institution (MSI) like UMBC. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to ask the right questions, tips for collecting demographic information and disaggregating data, and tools for simple coding in Qualtrics.

Guest Presenter: Mary Ellen Wade, Director for Assessment, Research and Strategic Priorities

*To increase access and flexibility, all Workshop Wednesday Sessions will be held virtually. *
