[POSTPONED] SafeZone: Lite Edition

An Abbreviated LGBTQ+ 101 Workshop

Location

Online

Date & Time

January 22, 2021, 1:00 pm3:00 pm – Canceled

Description

This workshop is designed to help students, staff, faculty, and alumni to create a more welcoming, affirmative atmosphere for LGBTQ+ members of the UMBC community. Due to the campus' virtual transition, we are currently unable to offer the full-SafeZone LGBTQ+ Allyship Development Training. This workshop is an abbreviated version for folks who have not taken the full day training. Due to this session having a limited amount of information related to allyship skills, participants will not be eligible for the SafeZone placard. We hope that we can provide a five-part cohort hybridized training in the near future.

This session will include a presentation for community members for all levels of knowledge about basic terminology, core concepts, to skills-based sessions on pronoun usage and a basic allyship development toolkit.
